The Southern Chapter of the Arizona Business Brokers Association, located in Tucson, AZ, was originally formed as the Arizona Association of Business Brokers (AABB) in 1986. In 2006, AABB joined with The Valley Board of Business Brokers, a Phoenix based business brokerage association (now the Central Chapter of AZBBA), and together they created the
Arizona Business Brokers Association, a state wide organization of business brokers with regional chapters.
All AZBBA business brokers are licensed with the Arizona Department of Real Estate. Many members hold professional designation and are members of a number of related professional organizations.
Members of AZBBA cooperate on business transactions with a mutual respect for confidentiality and a fiduciary duty to their clients. Contact with the public involves qualifying the buyers and the enforcement of confidentiality agreements.
Members of AZBBA do not advertise with yard signs, display detailed advertising, hold open houses or list businesses on residential multiple listing services. Business transactions "must" be kept confidential due to the potential negative impact on customers, suppliers, employees, and competitors.
Marketing a business requires a professional with knowledge of all the relevant steps in the process. Working under contract for a business seller or buyer demands well trained, competent, experienced professionals. The duty of confidentiality is common to all these situations and respected by all AZBBA members.
Members engage in transactions which require the utmost level of confidentiality similar to the relationship of Attorneys and C.P.A.'s with their clients. This is the approach of every professional member of AZBBA.
